Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Trust for America’s Health (TFAH), a leading nonprofit, nonpartisan public health policy, research, and advocacy organization in Washington, DC, seeks a new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer who will serve as a strategic thought partner in shaping TFAH’s work advancing the field of public health through evidence-based policies and programs.  At a critical time for the field of public health – ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to an expansive focus on health equity and racial justice, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will partner with the President and CEO to chart and shape TFAH’s future strategic direction, serve as a spokesperson for the organization, strategically lead operations to ensure TFAH’s growth and stability, and support and nurture the growth and development of a dynamic and talented staff.

The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will be a seasoned and innovative leader with deep knowledge of the public health policy landscape, a strong operational skillset, and significant management experience.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles in policy, advocacy, and/or public health organizations; extensive knowledge of federal legislative, regulatory, and budget processes, decisionmakers, and key stakeholders.  A Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Juris Doctor, or the equivalent is strongly preferred.
