Abbey Meltzer, MPS
Abbey Meltzer serves as the Senior Public Affairs Manager. In this role, Ms. Meltzer helps to raise the profile of TFAH and its leadership, by ensuring that TFAH’s goals and accomplishments are communicated efficiently and effectively to the media and other key stakeholders.
Having led strategic communications in public health and policy environments for two decades, Ms. Meltzer brings a strong track record of translating complex research into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with policymakers, media, and diverse stakeholder audiences. Prior to joining Trust for America’s Health, Ms. Meltzer was a VP at Crosby Marketing, where she mainly supported the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. Before Crosby, she led the communications and events department at the Foundation for NIH, where directed strategies across platforms, partnering closely with NIH leadership and other stakeholders.
Ms. Meltzer also served as the Director of Communications for the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (now National Academy of Medicine). During her tenure with the IOM, Ms. Meltzer led the dissemination for influential health policy reports and oversaw multichannel communications programs.
Ms. Meltzer began her career in television news, first working for an NBC affiliate in Ohio, then as an editorial producer in CNN’s Washington bureau. Ms. Meltzer holds a Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology from Penn State University.
