Scott Thorpe

Executive Director Southern Alliance for Public Health Leadership

Scott is the Executive Director and founder of the Southern Alliance for Public Health Leadership, which partners with state and local public health efforts in the Southeastern U.S. on strategies and advocacy for immunizations, access to care, and infant/maternal mortality. A graduate of George Washington University (B.A.) and Johns Hopkins University (M.P.P.), Scott has held senior leadership roles with the Georgia Department of Public Health, Partners in Health, and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. He is an expert in public health infrastructure, having directed major COVID-19 response teams, managed local health departments, and spearheaded health equity initiatives centered on Community Health Workers and electronic health record modernization.
