Public Health Programs Monitor: Dashboard

This interactive dashboard provides an overview of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) programs that are vulnerable to programmatic, structural, funding changes and other federal decisions. The dashboard includes information about the role the program plays in the field of public health, communities, and the populations they serve.

For the best viewing experience, please use a desktop device and access the full dashboard by clicking on the three-dot icon and select “View original page.”

Filters & Tags: You can sort data using the filters available for the following columns:

  • To view: The first tab has programs across 11 HHS agencies. To view programs for a specific agency, click the tab with the corresponding agency abbreviation.
  • To view more information: For more information about each program, hover over the program and select the ‘Open’ icon within the Program/Activity column.
  • To display budget/funding information: To see budget information, click “View Details” within each program to see specific budget numbers.
  • To filter each column: Find and click ‘Filter’ (the three descending lines on the right). Click ‘Add Filter’. Then, Pick:
    • The field to filter by (examples: Agency, FY 2026 Appropriations, etc.)
    • A condition (examples: “is”, “contains”, “is not empty”, “is greater than”)
    • The value you want (example: Agency is “CDC”)
  • To sort: Click ‘Sort’ (the two arrows next to the filter button on the right). Click ‘Add a sort’. Next, choose the field you want to sort by (examples: FY 2025 Allocation, Agency, etc.).
  • To find programs quickly without sorting/filtering: Click into the database and use the search box (top-right in the database) to type a keyword (e.g., “CDC”, “diabetes”, “injury”, etc.).

 

 


Reorganization: Programs are proposed to move from one agency to another.
Consolidation: Programs are proposed to be merged to form entirely new programs.
Elimination: Programs are proposed to be entirely removed.

Data Sources

Methodology
The PHPM uses information from publicly available government documents, webpages, and news and reports documenting changes in the federal funding and structural landscape. We aim to validate the information where possible by consulting individuals familiar with each agency and who can speak to the ways that federal health infrastructure and funding have changed since January 2025.

As the federal policy landscape evolves, the dashboard will be updated to reflect the latest information available.

The information contained in this dashboard reflects our best analysis of available federal programs and budgetary information.

Users should be aware that there may be inconsistencies across agency budgets, congressional appropriations documents, and presidential budget requests. The dashboard reflects our organization’s understanding of these documents. Although we have attempted to ensure the information is both accurate and complete, there may be errors or omissions. If we have misrepresented program or budget information, we welcome feedback and will update the file as appropriate.  This dashboard will be updated and revised periodically as more information becomes publicly available.
