Government Relations Manager/ Senior Government Relations Manager (Behavioral Health portfolio)

Trust for America’s Health (TFAH), a leading public health policy, research, and advocacy organization, has an opening for a Government Relations Manager or Senior Government Relations Manager, to lead the organization’s work on behavioral health, including substance misuse and mental health.  The Government Relations Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the legislative and regulatory strategy on a range of priority issues focused on prevention of substance misuse, suicide, adverse childhood experiences, and federal appropriations that impact behavioral health.

The Government Relations Manager also works with other departments at TFAH to help develop related policy recommendations and reports and organizes outreach to partner organizations. The position will lead a coalition of partners dedicated to primary prevention of behavioral health concerns. This individual will work closely with Government Relations colleagues to cultivate and maintain relationships with key Congressional, Administration, and federal agency staff; draft background documents, testimony, hearing questions, and other advocacy documents; and represent TFAH and its positions in both public and private meetings.
